Just my optimism getting carried away

In my last post, I wrote (rather gleefully) that we thought we could get through the process quicker than expected.

Silly me.

Our agency contact was in Guatemala last week, so his stand-in felt confident we could submit the dossier (without the I-171H form) to the translator. Well, he sure straightened us out once he returned to the office Monday morning. No I-171H document, no translation. I guess each program has different guidelines. What works in Guatemala, doesn’t necessarily work in Kazakhstan.

Darn—back to the waiting game.
